The goal of the PALS course is to aid the pediatric healthcare provider in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill infants and children, resulting in improved outcomes. Skills taught include recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest; the systematic approach to pediatic assessment; effective respiratory management; defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion; intraosseous access and fluid bolus adminstration; and effective resuscitation team dynamics.
For pediatricians, emergency physicians, family physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare providers who initiate and direct advanced life support in pediatric emergencies.
You are required to have the current textbook for this course. If you already own one or have access to one before, during, and after the class, you do not need to purchase one.

BLS renewal can be added on to your class in the section below. This allows you to receive both cards on the same day while completing the additional material at the end of your PALS class, including the BLS written test and BLS skills testing. In order to qualify for this option, you must complete the exam and skills the same day you take PALS.
